Spring Program

Eli had his spring program at his preschool Tuesday night. The theme was "Rockin' though the Ages." It was precious. Eli, who usually likes to be the center of attention, seemed a little shy on stage. He barely mouthed the words to the songs and only did some of the moves and gestures. He looked so cute in his tie-dyed shirt and was pretty proud of himself. I was relieved that he stood still up on stage and didn't take a flying leap off the altar steps. Afterward, there were nachos and ice cream sundaes to snack on and we got to visit with his friends and teachers. Great job Eli!!!!

Catching Up!

I have over a month's worth of pictures to post, so here goes:

Trip to Port Lavaca and SeaWorld:

After Eli's birthday party, we (me, Sam, and Eli) rode back to Port Lavaca with my parents to spend a week visiting. While we were there, we fished, went bowling, celebrated MeMaw's 78th birthday and relaxed. At the end of the week, Nick drove down to meet us in San Antonio for a day at SeaWorld. While it was terribly overcrowded (it was Spring Break), we still managed to have a great time.

Cecava Visit:

At the end of March, Gene, Kathy, Katie, and Grandma Rose came out to our neck of the woods for a nice visit. While they were here, they took in the Dallas Symphony, the church fish fry, and Eli's new favorite activity, bowling. Eli loved getting to spend time with his "friend Aunt Katie," and we were so happy that Grandma Rose got to be a guest in our home for the first time.

Rangers Game:

Nick and I had the opportunity to sit twelve rows behind homeplate at a Rangers game last week, so we jumped all over it. It was $1 hot dog night and perfect weather. We had a wonderful time. And the Rangers won, so that was a bonus. Thanks to Jill for watching the boys for us and making the evening possible.

Easter and Kennedy's First Birthday Party:

This past Saturday we were able to celebrate Kennedy's first birthday with Neil and Kandle and tons of their family and friends. Both of the boys had a blast and were pretty tuckered out by the time we left. They dyed eggs and had an Easter egg hunt. Eli was going 90mph all day. I'm really glad they hunted eggs at the party while the weather was beautiful because it wasn't so nice on Easter morning. The Easter bunny was forced to hide the eggs in the house this year. Eli found most of the eggs, but Sam started to get the hang of it. He put a few eggs in his basket, but was more interested in dumping them out. After that, we spent a quiet and relaxing day at home. Hope everyone had a great Easter! Oh, and today is Kennedy's actual birthday, so HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY sweet girl!WARNING: there are a ton of pics in this slideshow.

Birthday Party Pics!

Now that we're finally home from a relaxing spring break in Port Lavaca with my family, I can access the pictures from Eli's birthday party and share them, as promised. WARNING: there are a ton of them, about 80 or so. Good luck making it through them all.
Eli had a wonderful time at his party and I think most of the kids that attended did, too. We had an actor come to the party as Shaggy (from Scooby-Doo). He played games with the kids, did magic tricks, and made balloon animals. Then he left and came back as Scooby-Doo. Scooby helped us cut the cake and posed for some pictures with the kiddos. All in all, it was a great success. Thanks Grammy, Paw Paw, and Nat Nat for all the help with the party. Also, a big "thank you" to my wonderful husband for all of his hard work helping me get things ready and just going with the flow throughout the planning process. Nick always comes through to help make the day extra special for our kids and I love that about him. Ok, enough mushy stuff. Enjoy the pictures!
Have a wonderful week!

Happy 4th Birthday Eli!

Our big boy is four years old today! Eli, you are such a blessing to our family and always the life of the party. You talk a lot, ask tons of questions, and certainly keep us on our toes. You make us laugh all the time. You are so very smart and love to learn. You are a wonderful big brother to Sam (most of the time) and he loves you very much. Right now, your favorite thing is Scooby-Doo, but you also dabble in Bob the Builder, Looney Toons, and Caillou. You live to play video games with your Daddy. You love to crawl all over Mommy and you give the best hugs. You have this weird habit of "picking my nails" and it drives me crazy, but I let you do it anyway because I love you. Thank you so much for making our lives funnier, crazier, more chaotic, richer, happier and more blessed. We love you more than you know. Happy birthday sweet boy!

We had a big birthday blowout today complete with a visit from Scooby-Doo. Everyone seemed to have a great time and we are worn out for sure. I will get pictures posted soon. Eli, Sam, and I are going back to Port Lavaca with my family to spend the week, so I'll share pictures from the party when we get back. Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes to Eli. When someone told him "Happy Birthday" today, his reply was not "Thank You," but "Happy Birthday to you." He keeps us laughing, that crazy kid.

The Numbers are In

Sam had a great 15 month well check visit today with Dr. Kotas. Everything checked out great and there is still no sign of his heart murmur that was heard when he was born. He's growing like a weed and is off the chart for his height.
weight - 27 lbs, 2 oz.
height - 33.5 inches
He's gained 2 lbs, 10 oz and grown 2 inches since his 12 month appointment. Way to go Sammy! He didn't even cry that much when the nurse gave him his two shots. He's a tough kid.
Eli has his 4 year appointment at the end of this month, so we'll see just how much he's grown, as well. We are so very thankful to have such healthy boys. They light up our lives and bring so much joy to our family. God continues to bless our family immensely. Nick and I are in awe everyday of these two wonderful creatures He has given us the opportunity to raise. We know just how lucky we are.

Stay blessed!
April
